Welcome to the new site

Hi there. πŸ‘‹πŸ»

If you're reading this, it's likely because you're on the mailing list for my newsletter, The Post-Evangelical Post. I'm migrating off of Substack to my own Ghost website.

In November 2025, after almost a decade of working full-time and publishing podcasts (and writing a book along the way), I left my day job to pursue writing - and all the other content creation that accompanies writing today.

I'm thrilled and grateful for this opportunity.

About this site

On this site, you'll find the following verticals:

  • ✍🏻 Writing is where you find my original writing.
  • πŸ“š Reading is where I share some of the books I'm working through.
  • πŸ”— Linking is where you find links to interesting writing and content from the web. I'll share a weekly digest of these as well via email.
  • πŸ“€ Posting is where you find links to the content I'm posting to YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

What will you be writing & posting about?

I'm going to keep producing Exvangelical, while expanding into author interviews through The Good Books, and broader reading-related content through Let's Talk About Text. (My prior co-host for LTAT, Scott Okamoto, is no longer podcasting; a new co-host may be announced later.)

My interests have always extended well beyond the niche of faith deconstruction stories, and I intend to explore them in depth here. Broadly, those extended interests are: media & technology, books & reading, your typical nerdy stuff like comics & video games, and how we change our minds. I don't see these interests as competing at all--in fact, I see them as deeply interconnected. Each provides a lens for me (and perhaps you, too) to better understand myself and the world. I remain committed to highlighting the stories and perspectives of authors, creators, and people from all walks of life who, in the words of Rilke, help me to "live my life in widening circles."

Of course, the best way to keep up to date is by subscribing.

Things like web layouts/themes and other features directly on the site may be subject to change. I am also taking the remainder of the year to dial in what my regular publication schedule will be in 2026.

2025 has been a trying year, but I am ending it with gratitude. If you have any comments or questions, email me.
